There are a few famous personal & work partnerships that spring to mind when you think of successful couples in life; Antony & Cleopatra, Sonny & Cher, Wallace & Gromit, Richard & Judy! Ok… at least one those didn’t stand the test of time, but you get the idea. History is littered with (mostly) successful romantic couples who have also succeeded in their joint chosen careers.

So, what is their secret? Well, since there is no chance of an interview with any of the above, either due to mortality or lack of access(!), we are instead going to have a chat with Rhys & Ali Gwillym. Together they are the founders of SchoolsBi, our brand new service which you can read all about on this website.

Let’s find out a bit more about our Founders

Rhys and Ali met nearly 20 years ago when they were both working for Somerset County Council in the schools ICT Support Team and were married 2 years later. Other than a brief period where they working at different organisations, they have worked together ever since.

Ali started off in Banking, before moving into the Education and Business Sectors focussing on data manipulation and management reporting. Her next career progression was to ICT Technician, subsequently working up to Service Desk Manager managing a team of 14.

So, how about Rhys. Well, we know he met Ali at the Council where he began his career in Education IT. From there Rhys became Sales & Marketing Director at an IT firm. This, along with being a School Governor, for over 10 years, has given him a unique insight into Schools requirements

Then, after nearly 2 decades working together, Rhys & Ali set up Praestantia Technology two and a half years ago. They pooled their years and wealth of experience to set up Praestantia to provide truly exceptional IT Solutions and Support to schools and businesses. Since the company’s inception, it has grown beyond their wildest dreams and is now a sub £1m turnover company.

That is not where the story stops, however, now they are launching SchoolsBi; the innovative data investigation tool, allowing schools to access their valuable data in a readable format, at the click of a button. This dynamic duo are at it again!
